Dillon Francis’ Deep House Alter Ego DJ Hanzel Inks Deal with Create Music Group

Create Music Group lands a massive deal with Dillion Francis’ biggest “rival” and deep house side project DJ Hanzel.

Last week, terrible news arose for Dillon Francis. His biggest enemy DJ Hanzel announced he signed with a music group! The notable music group, Create Music Group, announced their exclusive signing with the one-deeper house DJ and arch-rival of Dillon Francis, DJ Hanzel. Ultimately, Dillon Francis’ worst nightmare has come true.  DJ Hanzel signed a global distribution deal with the team at Create Music Group, meaning we will not see the end of his daring attempts to go one more deeper.

DJ Hanzel, who comes to us from Dusseldorf, German has always lived in the shadows of the famous and thriving Dillon Francis. Hanzel was always left behind while Dillon continued to soar to the top of his career, booking huge shows at Electric Daisy Carnival, HARD Summer, and Coachella. But, maybe that was just because no one was truly ready for the deep sounds Hanzel was curating behind the scenes. With this big announcement surrounding Hanzel signing to a music group on his own. He can finally celebrate is his succession of separating himself from Dillon Francis once and for all. Although the two collaborated in the past, the working relationship has since soured when Francis continued to steal songs from Hanzel when the deeper sounds began to gain popularity. Hanzel is looking forward to utilizing this deal to emerge as a better and more gifted artist than Francis.

When asked about this signing deal, Hanzel made the following statement. “Since time immemorial, peasants, rubes, and all-around losers have attempted, but never achieved, going “ONE DEEPER.” In this rich tradition, we bear witness to Dillon Francis falling short of my sublime depth. Like some kind of musical gladiator, I have slayed my inferior rival Dillon Francis, and he must now accept his defeat. With it, his new moniker I have bestowed upon him: Der Pottyman. Of course, I will go on to celebrate joining the Create Music family. I will do so with dignity and grace, while Der Pottyman languishes in artistic banality. For it is truly an honor for me to embark on a new journey going one deeper with the amazing team at Create Music Group.”

Over the past year, the deep house DJ really showed up as an artist. He released two singles “Make Me Feel” and “Talkin,” which were instant hits in the deep house music scene. He also showcased his deepest track at Coachella with a surprise performance at the notable DoLab in 2022. Although unintentional, Hanzel has taken over the majority of Dillon Francis’ fan base, causing more tension between the two. But, Hanzel does not seek to reach the masses. He only hopes to attract those who crave to go maybe just one more deeper.

His plans while with Create include utilizing his time to create a new master plan. A plan to create music without ever listening to it. Create Music Group’s, Thomas Garcia stated “having the pleasure of watching DJ Hanzel build his career up over the years.” Adding that the team at Create Music is “thrilled to be working with him. Also, they hope that he and Dillon never end up in the same room together at Create Music Group headquarters.”

With 2023 looking deeper for DJ Hanzel, we hope to see more announcements from the artist! We wish Hanzel the best in his goal of creating music without ever listening to it. But, also hope for deeper tracks and more show announcements from the artist. If you can handle the deepest, you can find tracks from Hanzel below. And remember, Dillon Francis is out and Hanzel is in!

I have been writing for Exron Music for around eight months now and cannot wait to see what is to come throughout the years. At festivals and clubs, you will find me at any house and techno stage supporting my favorites Eli Brown or Dom Dolla, or belting every word to Porter Robinson tracks wherever he performs.
