Charlotte de Witte & Her Label KNTXT Celebrate Biggest Year Yet in Music

Charlotte de Witte, the Belgian powerhouse reached new heights in 2022, earning the title of the highest-ranked techno DJ in the world at the DJ Mag Awards.

This year, Charlotte de Witte and her label KNTXT exulted in their greatest year of accomplishments yet for 2022.  To begin with, Charlotte claimed the special designation of #1 techno artist on DJ Mag’s ‘Top 100’ poll. Not to mention, she also became the first female DJ to close out Tomorrowland’s mainstage – a huge win for techno artists and the industry generally.

As a label, KNTXT also experienced its fair share of noteworthy achievements.  KNTXT released two extraordinary EPs, ‘Universal Consciousness’ and ‘Apollo’, and welcomed records from leading artists like Alignment and Indira Paganotto.  Moreover, the innovative techno shop launched a new sub-label called RPM, dedicated to encouraging and uplifting emerging artists.

In addition to her big-ticket wins, Charlotte was also responsible for numerous sold-out KNTXT events globally.  From Club Space Miami to the Brooklyn Mirage, to Rotterdam Rave and Awakenings, de Witte has demonstrated her ability to captivate crowds with her charm and stripped-back heavy techno beat. Charlotte is a true visionary, infusing every track she touches with a deep soulful energy that drives crowds wild.

While she certainly had an unforgettable year, Charlotte has equally if not more exciting plans in the works for 2023.  The Belgian techno star announced a massive KNTXT show in her hometown on February 4th. Moreover, she will play at Printworks London on February 11-12, a high honor given the venue’s imminent closure in May.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
