Be it on a solo trip or an experience with friends, consider treating yourself to an adventure as you plan your next show.

berghain germany

1. Berghain (Berlin, Germany)

Located within a former heating plant, Berghain opened its doors in 2004 and has become one of the most iconic music venues worldwide.  Known for its secretive and debaucherous parties, the infamous club boasts the ultimate gift of exclusivity.  There are no reservations, no tables, and no guest list to count on – only the good graces of renowned bouncer, Sven Marquardt.

You might want to put Berghain at the top of your list of to-do’s since the Berlin staple is supposedly shutting down for good.  The closure seems all but confirmed, with sources mentioning the owners citing payouts and disillusionment as the cause.  Although not the first time Berghain teases closure, now’s as good as ever to try your luck at the door.

2. Printworks (London, England)

Located in a former printing plant that printed newspapers such as Daily Mail until 2012, Printworks skyrocketed to prominence – sitting at #4 on DJ Mag’s Top 100.  Similar to Berghain, time is limited to cross this venue off your list.  Printworks recently announced its impending closure in May 2023, but it’s certainly not going without a bang.

Printworks announced a killer roster spanning over the next six months to kick off its final season.  Among those confirmed are names such as Sidepiece, Kx5, Charlotte de Witte, Franky Wah, and Adam Beyer.  The lineup for several events is still TBA, meaning there are likely some major surprises yet to come.

3. Ushuaïa (Ibiza, Spain)

Despite temporary closures due to COVID-19 protocols, Ibiza’s nightlife is back in full force and better than ever. Located within the posh Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, Ushuaïa is undoubtedly the top outdoor club in Ibiza.  Its appeal is quite unique, as clubgoers on the island can watch their favorite DJs play as the sun sets and still have time to hit another venue after hours.

This summer alone, Ushuaïa hosted the likes of Camelphat, Tchami, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, and the list goes on. An absolute must-see whenever you visit Ibiza, Ushuaïa offers hotel guests and visitors alike an unmatched experience. Dip your toes in, grab a drink, and melt into the rhythm of the crowd under the Ibiza sun.

4. Zamna (Tulum, Mexico)

Nestled within the grounds of the Zamna Tulum Boutique Hotel, Zamna offers you a window into a magical oasis as you listen to your favorite artists. The hotel’s own Zamna festival promises a fascinating mix of artists to welcome 2023, as part of a 15-day ordeal.  This year’s event promises artists such as Diplo, John Summit, Michael Bibi, ARTBAT, and Black Coffee.

Besides all the world-class DJs that are set to play on the hotel’s island, Zamna also boasts a secret lagoon and a breathtaking cenote to complete the experience.  If you’re looking to realize your bougie fantasies while immersing in nature, then Zamna is the place for you. Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
