Is Sullivan King a Scientologist?
In the depths of Reddit appeared a thread sparking controversy over DJ Sullivan King and his affiliation with the Church of Scientology.
Keaton Prescott aka Sullivan King has carved out a niche lane for himself as practically the only metalhead DJ of the electronic scene. Known for his piercing screamo cries and shredding his guitar during his sets, his style has amassed a large fan base over the years. Though his following may have taken a hit once people discovered his association with the Church of Scientology.
Scientology is a religion and at its core believes each human has a reactive mind that responds to life’s trauma, preventing the analytic mind from experiencing reality. This trauma can also be from previous lives as members believe we are immortal beings whose experiences extend beyond a single lifetime. Even though the Church of Scientology is widely recognized with over 10,000 churches globally, its beliefs are often met with criticism describing their practices as extreme.
A Reddit user started a thread titled “Does Sullivan King‘s Affiliation with the Church of Scientology Bother Anyone and Why Doesn’t Anyone Speak Out About This?” The Redditor shared their discovery of Sullivan King and his family’s involvement linking their names to donor lists and auditing service courses.
Coming as a shock to many, people were quick to pull the cancel card losing Keaton several fans. One Redditor shared, “When I tell you I’m shook by this. I never ever in a million years thought there was anything he could do or be a part of that would make me dump his music, but this about does it for me. I’m disgusted.”
Another person responds in agreement, “Yeah I’m definitely done listening to his music. It’s a shame I actually love his music, but this cult thing is such a huge issue that I just can’t ignore.” Sullivan King has not made any public statements or addressed his affiliation with the church since this information was brought to light.
Even if he chooses not to comment on the matter if he were to publicly denounce his involvement with Scientology he would be disowned by his family who remain members. Only the future will tell if these new details will have long-term effects on Prescott’s music career.
