The Black Marble project finally dropped, a 17-track self-titled album, full of dance inspiration after much anticipation from Louis The Child.

Louis The Child is back with a fresh new project, Black Marble, released this past week on Friday, December 2nd. The Chicago DJ duo Louis The Child began their music careers in 2013, playing mostly small venues until 2014. Their 2015 single, “It’s Strange,” ignited their fame with praise from Taylor Swift herself.

Since then, working with many well-known artists and releasing multiple singles and EPs. They have grown immensely as musical artists. Now leaving them time to explore their craft even further. They took to social media to announce their newest project and album, ‘Black Marble,’ paired with a dance film noir video production.

“Black Marble (Beat Tape) and dance film premiering TONIGHT at 9 PM. We can’t wait to finally share this one with you ⬛️,” captioned their post. This project is an exploration focusing on a different musical aesthetic than previously shown. The instrumental tape, ‘Black Marble,’ is a testament to the ever-revolving door of musical evolution.

In addition, Louis The Child also released a Black Marble: Dance Film on the same day as the album. The beautiful black-and-white creation was filmed in multiple cities across the world, showcasing various dancers concentrated in their element. The dancers consisted of Jake Kodish, Nao, and Marisa Fernandez to name a few.

The film begins in Los Angeles, go across the globe to Tokyo, and back to Chicago, stopping in Paris, London, Vancouver, and many more notable metropolitan destinations. The 34-minute, 5-second short was directed by multimedia artist Chase O’Black. Chase has worked with many remarkable artists, such as A$AP Rocky, Sza, Lil Uzi Vert, and many others.

In fact, Louis The Child has slowly been leaking the visuals along with music to their fans at their live performances at Alter-Ego in Brooklyn and Burning Man earlier this year. The duo is currently on tour till the beginning of next year, stopping in at Zouk Nightclub, New City Gas, and closing out the year at Decadence AZ 2022. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch ‘Black Marble’ performed live!
