What Your Spotify Wrapped 2022 Says About You: EDM Edition

Your Spotify Wrapped 2022 says a lot about you, here’s our take.

It’s everyone’s favorite time of the year… Spotify Wrapped reveals! Your Spotify Wrapped 2022 enlightens you on more than just your favorite tunes, playlists, and artists. This end-of-year round-up tells a story of what kind of raver you are, what kind of vibe give off, and most importantly, how elite your music taste is.

Subtronics, Level Up, Sullivan King, Excision, Liquid Stranger, Illenium

If Subtronics, Level Up, Sullivan King, Excision, Liquid Stranger, or Illenium are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, you are an active member of EDM Twitter. You probably have “[insert rave/festival here] –> SOON in your Twitter handle. You might even have “headbanger” or “Wakaan fam” in your bio. But your favorite thing about EDM is all the people you’ve met and the memories you’ve made along the way.

Tipper, Keota, K.L.O., Kursa, Mad Zach, Detox Unit, Jade Cicada, Koan Sound

If Tipper, Keota, K.L.O., Kursa, Mad Zach, Detox Unit, Jade Cicada, or Koan Sound are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, you probably aren’t even reading this article. You’re so far removed from the EDM scene these days that you can’t be bothered with the titles, drama, or theatrics. You know your music taste is the best, and you probably didn’t even post your Spotify Wrapped anywhere because you don’t care what anyone thinks about it. Oh, and you’ve probably slept in a car, tent, or random couch too many times to count.

Odesza, Elderbrook, Rufus du Sol, Fred Again.., ZHU, Lane 8

If Odesza, Elderbrook, Rufus du Sol, Fred Again.., ZHU, or Lane 8 are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, you’re fun, whimsical, and you pride yourself on your taste. You often reminisce on the “old days” when you could rave every weekend with no consequences. Now, you like to lay low and party only on special occasions.

John Summit, Dom Dolla, Disco Lines, Dombresky

If Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Artbat, Nina Kravitz, Seth Troxler, Carl Cox, or Tale of Us are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, the term “EDM” often makes you cringe. You eat, sleep, and breathe techno. Your lifelong dream is to have an ego death in a decrepit Berlin warehouse.

G Jones, Shades, Of the Trees, Charlesthefirst, Lab Group, Clozee, GRiZ, Eazybaked

If G Jones, Shades, Of the Trees, Charlesthefirst, Lab Group, Clozee, or Eazybaked are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, you probably have a really insane merch collection. You mark your calendar for merch and ticket drop days, and would travel anywhere to see your favorite artists. Most importantly, you have elite taste in much and know it.

Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Hardwell, Swedish House Mafia

If Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Hardwell, or Swedish House Mafia are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, you’re a seasoned EDM fan. You hardly go to shows or festivals anymore because life is coming at you so fast, but you occasionally make time for the good ones when it means getting the old crew back together. You miss P.L.U.R. with every fiber of your being and miss the days of furry boots and perlers. Also, you probably have no idea what EDM Twitter is.

GRiZ, Seven Lions, Zeds Dead, Porter Robinson

If GRiZ, Seven Lions, Zeds Dead, or Porter Robinson are on your 2022 Spotify Wrapped playlist, you’re probably a veteran in the scene. Your participation in #festivalszn has been dwindling with each year that passes, but you’ll never let that piece of you die. However, when you do show up, you’re the life of the party.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
