From ATLiens to Seven Lions to Excision and more: the EDM community is very thankful this Thanksgiving!
‘Tis the season to be thankful and DJs are taking to social media to express their deep gratitude for friends, family, pets, subscribers, the EDM community, and wubs. Many DJs posted on Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, and more regarding the spoils of all their blessings for Thanksgiving, but select thoughtful Instagram posts and reels occupied the spotlight.
In an Instagram post featuring DJ Diesel and his girlfriend Taylor, CRANKDAT shared a few wonderful words. “Tons to be thankful for this year. Thankful for great family and friends and for you guys giving me the opportunity to share my music for another year.” To top the post off, Shaq also commented, “Family.” Wholesome content overload!
Lane 8 also shared a photo with his creative team. “Feeling very thankful for this crew who have helped bring the Reviver tour to life over the past 12 months. it’s an amazing feeling to step on stage every night knowing that I’m in such good hands, and I have these amazing folks to thank for that. appreciate you all.” He tagged the crew members in the photo, specifically citing team members in his thank you.
Although there were a ton of thoughtful posts, the most in-depth thank you certainly went to Griz, who posted a mini novel of straight serotonin. “I used to have… this idea of what the holidays were supposed to look like but as I’ve gotten older, spent holidays alone or with friends instead of family… or holidays while working, I’ve [come to understand] that it’s okay for them to be different.”
Griz furthered his statement with greater insight into what Thanksgiving meant to him. “I hope that wherever today finds you that you’re safe, and good health is with you or you’re on a path towards it. And no matter what the situation, however you’re celebrating or working, we [have a] whole [lot of] love for [you] ‘round here. I am SO extremely thankful for all my people, every day.”
Closing the statement, Griz spoke on his significant other. “And Frankie, girl, you my everything. love y’all. Ps bonus points for telling someone you love them today.”
Although these past couple of years have been hard, it certainly feels as though the future is bright, for the hardships of the past will make the blessings of tomorrow seem so much sweeter.
