Honey Dijon Shares Sophomore Album ‘Black Girl Magic’ with Cinematic Video for Lead Single

The long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Black Girl Magic,’ from Honey Dijon is beautifully paired with the lead singles’ hypnotic music video.

Honey Dijon unleashes her musical wizardry on her sophomore album, ‘Black Girl Magic,” in conjunction with a stunning video production release. After attending various parties in high school, Honey Dijon fell in love with house music. Subsequently, she moved to New York City and began Djing in 1998. The same year she started her transition.

Since then, she has become an activist for transgender representation in the dance music scene. ‘Black Girl Magic,’ embodies the voice and empowerment of a community not always recognized within the industry. The album is a testament to the strides made not only in music but within our society to embrace the differences of others.

On November 18th the fifteen-track album was released through The Classic Music Company. From start to finish you can find something for everyone. Honey recruited the crème de la crème to collaborate on her second full-length album. Artists such as Eve, Dope Earth Alien, Mike Dunn, Cor.Ece, and many others.

In addition, a music video, “It’s Quiet Now,” was created in alliance with the album release. Cor.Ece, a Los Angeles-based visual artist, singer, and songwriter directed the project. Not to mention Toronto native, Dope Earth Alien, is featured in the song. For this purpose, the production depicts the various stages of the romantic life of trans women.

“Honey and I wanted to bring this story to life. In three minutes, we get a full arc from pain to romance to true liberation,” noted Cor.Ece. Clare Riche and Brandon Lucas took center stage in the concept to truly depict the emotions faced in such intimate moments. “We get to witness peace that is earned–and fought for,” Core.Ece added.

Moreover, Honey has found her place in music, art, and fashion throughout her career. In previous years she crafted soundtracks for Dior and Louie Voulton runways. Likewise, she has her fashion line, Honey Fucking Dijon. Catch Honey live on Saturday, December 3rd at Wynwood Market Place in Miami, Florida.
