Virtual Riot’s Wife Resurfaces on Social Media and Claims She Was “Threatened” and “Forced into Silence”
Johanna Brunn returns from her social media hiatus to give an update on her ongoing drama with her ex-husband, Virtual Riot
Earlier this week, Virtual Riot’s ex-wife, Johanna Brunn, resurfaced on social media to explain her previous statements on both Virtual Riot, aka Valentin Brunn, and his new girlfriend/tour manager, Ava Clover. This story dates back to when Virtual Riot’s then-wife, Johanna, were in a polyamorous relationship with two others. Ava Clover and Ava’s husband at the time, Lektrique, aka Vincent Sergeant.
Johanna says that Clover sabotaged her marriage of 10 years due to her influence on Valentin. Johanna claimed that Clover was a regular drug user, and abused her dog by giving him drugs. Additionally, she also accused Lektrique of physically abusing her to prevent her from seeing Virtual Riot. After all of these allegations, she returned to Instagram to retract all her statements made against Lektrique and Ava. She apologized and explained that Lektrique is not responsible for her bruising, Ava does not abuse her dog, and neither of them is influencing Virtual Riot into drug use. Johanna admits the situation was taken out of context and did not speak about the matter from then on. Until recently, when Johanna resurfaced on Instagram to retract her statements once again.
In a series of Instagram stories, Johanna goes on to explain her current situation while explaining her previous retracements. She wrote “I was forced to lie about the heavy drug going on in the house. @VirtualRiot currently resides in Tarzana, California.” Johanna continues “I was forced to write while sitting crying on the floor and being threatened by 6 people.” She goes on to add their handles (image above) and says “I have video proof of everything.” The post ends with an update on her life, stating that she’s okay and that she will be moving back to Japan for work.
To make matters more interesting, Virtual Riot announced he will be canceling the remainder of his November show. He wrote that this year has been difficult and he needs to focus on his mental health. Without going into specifics, he said he would be “back in full force in December.”
As of now, the situation will go through the legal system per Johanna’s mention of her lawyer. As for Virtual Riot, there’s been no update on a December return. However, it’s safe to say that the music community wishes him nothing but good health and peace during these times.
