Virtual Riot Cancels Upcoming Tour Dates for Mental Health Break Following Polyamory Drama

Dubstep DJ and producer Virtual Riot has announced he will be canceling November tour dates due to his mental health.

In May of 2022, Virtual Riot’s personal life became very public after his wife, Johanna Brunn, accused one member of their polyamorous relationship, Lektrique, of assaulting her. She later retracted the statement, claiming that he did not physically harm her.

However, in the same light, she also shared details of concerns she had about her husband’s drug use habits. According to Johanna, her husband’s girlfriend, Ava Clover, was to blame for the drug use and addiction they were both subjected to. Although it’s become apparent Johanna and Virtual Riot’s relationship has ended, Johanna has continued to express concern for his health, sold his clothes via her Instagram stories, and even share details of her own mental health struggles.

Virtual Riot, Johanna, Ava, and Lektrique, another dubstep DJ, were all involved in a polyamorous relationship prior to the explosion back in May. Virtual Riot himself has remained quiet on social media amid the polyamory drama and has yet to address any of his wife’s comments about his or his girlfriend’s lifestyles.

However, it’s clear something has caught up with the artist as he’s called to cancel all forthcoming tour dates. He said, “I realize that I haven’t been taking care of my body and mental health as much as I should have and it’s come to a point where I just need a break.” The artist closed the statement with a promise to return in December “in full force.”

Fans and fellow artists rushed to Virtual Riot’s support amid news of the canceled tour in the comments. Ghastly said, “Take the time you need brother – I went through something very similar, feel free to reach out at your own pace my friend we all love and support you.” While Blanke commented, “great to be taking that time for yourself man, well done for making that decision. this balance isn’t easy. sending love ?.”

Johanna, who goes by @officialmissneko on IG left a cyptic comment on his post, “How about you and your massively drug addicted new girlfriend @ avaclover, who you ended our 10 year marriage/relationship for, finally stop the daily drug abuse. Hope this finally means rehab for you. I wish you healing. Don’t die please.” She posted it to her story and left further comments there:

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
