Flume Disappoints Fans With Live Stream Expected to Debut Lost Tracks

Flume claimed he recovered a laptop with tracks from 2012 and shared plans to play them for fans, but after forgetting the laptop, the live stream took a different turn.

Australian DJ and producer, Flume, took to the popular social media platform, TikTok, to announce the retrieval of his old laptop. This laptop is a prized gem to both Flume and fans as it was used to produce his first debut album, Flume, back in 2012.

This album was the start of everything for Flume as a DJ and producer. The album included top hits from the artist such as “Holdin On“, “Insane”, and “Sleepless”. Since then, Flume quickly rose to the top with his Top 20 hit “Never Be Like You“, from his album Skin, which reached number 8 on the Billboard 200. Flume also earned his first career GRAMMY win at the 59th GRAMMY Awards for 2016 for Best Dance and Electronic Album for Skin.

During his recent travels back to Australia after his tour in the United States, Flume previously thought he had lost the old laptop that he used to make his honorable 2012 debut album. But, in his recent TikTok post he got fans excited stating he found the old machine, fixed it up, and found some special, forgotten gems on it. He held a special TikTok live stream on Sunday and many fans showed up expecting to get a taste of some of those tracks as the artist promised.

However, Flume did everything but share the unreleased material from his old laptop. He started off the stream dropping Mentos into soda, followed by the water bottle challenge. He even participated in the ice bucket challenge during the stream. Flume did, however, discuss music in some capacity–he plans to share a track called “Slugger” from the 2012 era on Wednesday and plans to drop a Tennis Court remix at an unknown date. Although there was some music news, fans overall seemed to express disappointment in the stream.

My name is Emilee Gabbard. I currently live in sunny Orange County, CA. By day I am a project manager working in the aerospace industry, but by night a music blogger for yours truly, Exron Music! I have been writing for Exron Music for around eight months now and cannot wait to see what is to come throughout the years. At festivals and clubs, you will find me at any house and techno stage supporting my favorites Eli Brown or Dom Dolla, or belting every word to Porter Robinson tracks wherever he performs.
