Ghastly Shares Candid Post About Pursuing Sobriety on 33rd Birthday

DJ and producer Ghastly reflects on his past and announces the beginning of his beautiful journey to sobriety.

Ghastly has been reminiscing on his life as of late and has decided to make some big changes. The producer and DJ opened up to his fans on Instagram about how sick he is of the lifestyle he has subconsciously created.

Birthdays can bring up heavy waves that crash into the force of the sand pulling back into its home. It is easy to slide back home but it takes vulnerability and acceptance to allow yourself to allow the waves to flow through you and with you.

Since the age of thirteen, Ghastly has been smoking weed and letting the waves slowly drown him under the dark force of substance abuse with alcohol. As his thirty-third birthday approaches, the artist reflects on his intentions following his birthday.

Starting on October 23rd, Ghastly will abstain from drugs, booze, porn, and nicotine with the intention to discover who he is when he is fully sober. This will be a focused determination that the genre-bending producer feels the need to owe himself. 

Since the Instagram announcement, the overwhelming response from fans has left Ghastly overwhelmed and extremely humbled. The artist pondered on the potential of evolving his music once he gets to meet who is on the other side of the ocean. 

Who knows what is on the other side? Other artists such as Kavion have candidly expressed how being just one year sober has changed their life for the better (or as Ghastly says it, “he is entering his villain era“)

Ghastly acknowledges the mental and soulful toll it takes to reach what he has always seen as an impossible goal. The determined artist has kept himself accountable by posting updates to his fans. By day 5, the artist has already gained clarity, motivation, productivity, and confidence.
