Blunts & Blondes Removed From Backwoods Festival Lineup Amid Sexual Assault Allegations

Backwoods Festival decides to eliminate Blunts & Blondes set amidst recently arising sexual assault allegations.

Blunts & Blondes has been withdrawn from the Backwoods Music Festival roster due to a sexual assault claim earlier this month. On October 18th, Michael Guard of Blunts & Blondes was accused of rape by Gabrielle Reinhardt via Twitter. The incident at hand took place in the summer of 2019, on July 27th when Gabrielle was 19. Since then Michael has made a statement regarding the allegations.

Subsequently, a few days later on October 22nd, Backwoods Music Festival tweeted to share their thoughts on the matter of the sexual allegation claims. They stated, “While we understand this story is still developing, we want to ensure our community that we do not tolerate this or of behavior, so we will be replacing Blunts & Blondes from our lineup, effective immediately.”

Despite the development of the allegations, many fans were in support of the removal of Blunts & Blondes from the lineup. One tweet even suggested he should also be dropped from EDC Orlando. “@EDC_Orlando take notes ? remove the accused off the line up.” Blunts & Blondes is still scheduled to play EDC Orlando on Saturday, November 12th.

However, Backwoods Music Festival has replaced Blunts & Blondes with KOAN Sound and Jason Leech. The roster update was shared a few days after their initial removal of Blunts & Blondes due to the surrounding circumstances. “Important lineup announcement! KOAN Sound and Jason Leech to join the Backwoods 2023 lineup ?,” the post captioned.

Regardless Blunts & Blondes remains on tour till the end of January 2023. Unfortunately, his next show was to be on Halloween, Monday, October 31st at Blackbox Theatre in Charlotte, NC has been canceled. As the story unfolds, the fate of Blunts & Blondes is unknown.

Backwoods Music Festival is scheduled for Thursday, April 20, 2023, through Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at Mulberry Mountain in Arkansas. Tickets are still available for this incredible music experience. Their affiliate, The Backroads Tour, will be stopping in many US cities along the way from now till the end of March.
