Exron Music: We really enjoyed your performance at the Fluffy Cloud experience in NYC! How do you feel the event went?

Darin Epsilon: First of all, thank you for inviting me to do this interview. I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the party! I had been in contact with The Fluffy Cloud since October 2019 and we were making plans to do some shows together until the pandemic hit.

Fast forward to September 2022 and I finally had my chance to perform for them for the first time at Under The K Bridge in Brooklyn. The event actually managed to exceed my expectations and I’m happy to say that I received loads of positive feedback after my performance!

Exron Music: Why do you think it’s important to incorporate art and visual components to emphasize music projects?

Darin Epsilon: The amount of hard work and painstaking effort that it takes to pull off an event of this scale is something that shouldn’t ever be taken for granted. The Fluffy Cloud team has worked together on a number of occasions, most recently at Burning Man in August, so they were well prepared for every challenge that came their way during the New York leg of their tour.

I think the elaborate art and visuals really helped to elevate the show and I’m sure a lot of people will be keeping the experience in their memories for a very long time.

Exron Music: You recently released your EINMIX which featured 25 tracks from Einmusika Recordings’ back catalog. What was the process like to curate your mix and choose the tracks?

Darin Epsilon: The process of putting together this compilation was extremely challenging and time-consuming. It’s not very often that you come across a label with such an enormous back catalog and a high standard of quality tracks to choose from.

All in all, it took me 5 days just to listen through every song they’ve ever signed, and then another 2 days to figure out the positioning of each one and the overall pacing of the set. I had to do this while making sure each song was harmonically related to the one before it, and keep the intensity building and building until the end.

Exron Music: What can you tell us about your upcoming Perspectives Digital label showcase at ADE?

Darin Epsilon: This year we’re returning to Club NL after 3 long years. I’ve invited 4 highly accomplished producers from the label that I truly respect and admire. Some of the labels that these artists have released are the best in the industry such as Diynamic, Ellum Audio, Stil Vor Talent, Katermukke, Knee Deep In Sound, and many more.

It’s the same lineup that I had originally planned in 2021, but was forced to cancel due to the sudden new Covid restrictions and curfew that the Dutch government imposed.

Exron Music: You’re about to wrap up an impressive summer tour across Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. How do your international performances inspire your sonic direction?

Darin Epsilon: Traveling to new places and being able to experience the local food, culture, language, and history is always inspiring! I produce music with the purpose of being able to get out there and tour. I’m constantly living in a loop, going from writing music in my studio, to playing it out in front of audiences, to flying home, recovering from jet lag, and doing it all over again 🙂

Exron Music: What are your goals for 2023? Any upcoming plans you can share with us?

Darin Epsilon: I was extremely lucky to have my touring schedule pick up in the 2nd half of the year. I got to play many wonderful events and met lots of nice people from all around the world.

There are still many interesting places that I have yet to play, with the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia at the top of my wishlist. I would also like to continue signing great music and bringing my label showcases to as many cities as possible.
