Claude Von Stroke Relinquishes Legendary Dance Label Dirtybird Records to EMPIRE

EMPIRE announces they will be adding the iconic dance label Dirtybird as a new acquisition.

EMPIRE, which is a leading music label and publisher, announces the addition of a well-known dance record label, Dirtybird, to their label. The formal announcement from EMPIRE and Dirtybird Records is planned to be announced at the leading dance conference in Amsterdam called Amsterdam Dance Event. The announcement will take place on October 20th at Space266.

This acquisition will be marked as a historic event for  EMPIRE as it will be their first label in the dance music industry. This acquisition will be bringing together two San Francisco music companies, which have earned their names as the leading independent music companies in the Bay Area.

Dirtybird was founded in San Francisco back in 2005 by our Dirtybird Father, Barclay Crenshaw, known in the music industry as Claude VonStroke. The label continues to be the lead music label for the contemporary House Music scene for over twenty years. The “Dirtybird sound” is influenced by almost any sound from Detroit Techno to Drum n Bass to Hip Hop, all combined to make a killer unique house track. Dirtybird has some remarkable artists on their label including Walker & Royce, Fisher, Shiba San, Nala, Eats Everything, and many more.

Both founders from EMPIRE and Dirtybird expressed their excitement about this upcoming acquisition. Ghazi, CEO of EMPIRE, mentioned “Growing up in San Francisco and the Bay Area at large, dance music has always been a huge part of our music scene.EMPIRE at its core is a company that is for the culture. Dirtybird embodies the independent ethos and understands the cultural nuance of everything San Francisco and dance music.”

While Claude VonStroke mentioned “I’m so excited to join another incredible independent Bay Area music company. I will continue to A&R the Dirtybird label and direct the creative for the music and clothing, while EMPIRE has the capacity and resources to grow the brand globally. This is a dream come true.”

Congratulations to both companies for such a historic move for dance music and music labels! If you are interested in watching the announcement of the acquisition, you can get more details at www.empireatade.rsvpify.com.

My name is Emilee Gabbard. I currently live in sunny Orange County, CA. By day I am a project manager working in the aerospace industry, but by night a music blogger for yours truly, Exron Music! I have been writing for Exron Music for around eight months now and cannot wait to see what is to come throughout the years. At festivals and clubs, you will find me at any house and techno stage supporting my favorites Eli Brown or Dom Dolla, or belting every word to Porter Robinson tracks wherever he performs.
