Sources Claim Berghain Will Close Forever by the End of 2022

Popular German Nightclub, Berghain, is rumored to be closing its doors at the end of this year.

Many sources have claimed that Berghain, a popular nightclub in Berlin, Germany will sadly be closing its doors going into the new year. Berghain first opened with its formal name Ostgut in 1998. But, in January 2003 Ostgut was demolished and revamped by founders and friends Michael Teufele and Norbert Thormann into the techno club we know today.

Berghain is known for its dark exterior, being a former German power plant, making it instantly recognizable. The club holds an element of mystery due to its no photos policy, it continues to attract partygoers. Inside this club, which is commonly called the “World Capital of Techno”, you can find multiple rooms. The club’s main room is techno focused, with a smaller upstairs space, Panorama Bar, featuring house music. The club features world-class sound with its Funktion-One sound system on its main dance floor. In comparison, Panorama Bar is equipped with a line-array sound system with six subwoofers for great sound quality.

Multiple sources including Faze Magazine mentioned the following statements.

“Berghain’s “final end” will come by the end of the year per several inside sources at the club.”

“The Berghain is closing forever — the final end will come this year.”

“One of the founders has already been paid out and is said to be staying in the countryside in Brandenburg.”

From this information from insider sources, it is clear to us that Berghain could definitely be coming to an end. These last few months of 2022 could be the final chapters for this famous club. Unfortunately, sources also stated there are no further renewals for the club, and the venue would not continue to exist as any type of art or music location.

This isn’t the first rumor we have heard about Berghain’s closure. But after in-house booking agency Ostgut Bookings announced its closure last week, speculation has grown for this being the end for Berghain. If you get the chance to visit this outstanding nightclub in Germany before the rumored closing, you should! Some upcoming artists you can catch at Berghain include Shackleton, Manuka Honey, and Nick Höppner.

I have been writing for Exron Music for around eight months now and cannot wait to see what is to come throughout the years. At festivals and clubs, you will find me at any house and techno stage supporting my favorites Eli Brown or Dom Dolla, or belting every word to Porter Robinson tracks wherever he performs.
