Mize Responds To Sexual Abuse Allegations

Atlanta-based DJ Mize, real name Ian Evans, posted a statement in response to sexual assault accusations made against him.

In a lengthy Twitter post, Mize addressed instances with two different women. After the Sonic Bloom festival in Colorado, a woman named Emily Page who was friends with Mize at the time claimed he kept taking her hand to inappropriately touch himself when they were together in bed at his Airbnb.

Page claimed they had a platonic relationship and didn’t think anything would happen between them since Evans was seeing someone else. Emily has since received a cease-and-desist letter from Mize’s lawyer. Read her full statement below.

Mize came to the defense explaining that their previous sexually charged conversations were an indication that led him to believe she wanted to engage intimately. He provided screenshots of their conversation the following day and a screenshot of Page reaching out on a separate occasion to request a guest list for a show in Tampa.

In addition to this accusation, Mize addressed a separate Reddit thread that surfaced detailing a story of rape and assault that occurred in August 2021. The woman who remains anonymous explained she met Mize at a club in Charlotte, NC, and went back to his hotel room after hitting it off.

As they were getting intimate, he began to become aggressive and punched her in the face giving her a black eye. Mize claimed the whole story was fabricated and provided screenshots from his alibi Tiffany Wickham who vouched that she was with him practically the entire time he was in town.

There are still more alarming accusations circulating the internet against Mize. Some of which claim he admitted previously admitted to having sex with minors.

It seems likely that this is the end of Ian Evan’s music career. He’s already removed from Griz’s Another World and Liquid Stranger’s Mission Ballroom upcoming shows.

In these “he said she said” cases, it’s tough to delineate where the truth lies but it’s important to note victims who come forward oftentimes don’t believe anything will change by speaking up. Victims should be heard and it is our duty as a community to not tolerate abuse of any kind.
