Halloween Costume Inspo To Match With Your Favorite Artist at Freaky Deaky Portland

6 costume ideas to match with some artists at Freaky Deaky Portland including SVDDEN DEATH, Level Up, Mersiv, Zingara, LSDream, and CloZee.

Not sure what to dress up for this year’s Freaky Deaky Portland? here are 6 costume ideas to match with artists on this year’s lineup. Spooky season is here and Disco Donnie has curated a most mischievous lineup for Portland ravers. The Portland Expo Center will be hosting many phenomenal producers ranging from dark and evil bass artists to more colorful world bass sounds.

Disco Donnie is known for putting on a unique production for their shows and their sophomore edition of Freaky Deaky in Portland will be no different. Below are six costume ideas to match with the artists: SVDDEN DEATH, Level Up, Zingara, LSDream, Mersiv, and CloZee at Freaky Deaky.

1. SVDDEN DEATH

SVDDEN DEATH is known for his sinister tracks and apocalyptic live music experiences. His latest album ‘VOYD II’, released back in March of this year provides an end-of-the-world-like feel to it. This doomsday sound is perfect for a group Halloween costume as the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse are a biblical story of the end of times and each horseman signifies a different wave: conquest, war, famine, and death. This story has many different iterations in books and fantasy tv shows such as Supernatural, and Charmed. One can get quite creative with this inspo and can draw from many years of storytelling.

2. Level Up

Level Up has a bass sound that reflects ominous midnight darkness which is necessary for the spooky season. The bass producer has been putting in the work and has already begun traveling for her current US Spellbound Tour. Following this tour announcement, the bass producer released her latest EP ‘Coven’, the perfect EP to replay around Halloween time.

Some of the artwork for Level Up’s songs has a Tim Burton-inspired look to reflect the darkness of her tunes. An excellent costume idea would include characters from Burton’s film Corpse Bride. One can either go solo and dress as Victor or Victoria or alternatively as a couples costume including both of the characters.

3. Zingara

The talented producer Zingara is letting people know that she is the future of bass and she is here to stay. The artist has been making her rounds at festivals around the US including Lost Lands, WAKAAN, Moonrise, and many upcoming appearances. Additionally, congratulations are in order as Zingara has announced her first headline tour The Astra Tour.

Zingara is a sorceress with her diverse bass sound that has magic coursing throughout each drop. A fun costume idea would be any of the immaculate Halliwell witches from the late 90s show Charmed. Each of the four sisters has their own unique style whether that’s while they are badass human witches or when they unluckily get turned into a myriad of supernatural creatures.

4. LSDream

LSDream is a beloved bass artist known for his vibey out-of-this-world tunes. He recently had a legendary B2B set with Liquid Stranger at this year’s Wakaan Festival. As well as releasing his latest mythical track “FUNKONAUT” with the vibrant producer Griz.

To reflect the psychedelic tone of LSDream’s persona and extraterrestrial songs any and all aliens are welcome to the Expo Center floors. As long as these intergalactic beings swear to only spread peace, love, and wubz. An alien with an array of colors, patterns, and glitter would be the perfect fit for this artist.

5. Mersiv

Mersiv’s song “Beautiful and Filthy” is the perfect description of the type of bass the Louisiana-born artist creates. His latest tour the Mersiv Experience Tour has one of the most expansive and talented guest appearances of the year. Mersiv is without a doubt creating a new way to make and experience bass music and is a pioneer in his field.

Inspired by his song “Forest Creature” a hair-raising costume idea would be the legend originating from the indigenous mythological creature: The Wendigo. There is a lot of different lore for this chilling monster but one truth remains that this is one of the scariest creatures imaginable. A flesh-eating being that would be one’s worst nightmare if they were to come across it.

6. CloZee

The French producer CloZee is a well-known international producer best known for her distinctive “world bass” genre music. CloZee just had her first headline show at Red Rocks with a collection of special guests. She also curated a 3-day festival and camping experience in The Caverns, a beautiful underground cave system in Tennessee.

With respect to CloZee’s French roots, a haunting costume idea would be to dress up as the main character from the French horror film Raw. This blood-curdling film, while hard to watch at times, takes a harrowing but interesting approach to the coming-of-age story. A simple yet menacing costume would include veterinary scrubs with a copious amount of blood (iykyk).
