Luca Lush Celebrates 30th Birthday with Honest Note About Mental Health

Luca Lush turned 30 and shared a touching birthday message looking forward to the future.

Crossing another milestone in life Luca Lush admits this year has been a tough one for him mentally and emotionally, but things are now looking up. He shared, “Never have I been more thankful for the close relationships I’ve cultivated, my loving girlfriend my cats, and the privilege of making music & sharing it with y’all live and digitally.”

Luca Lush is also releasing an upcoming EP called Entropy Entendre intended to be a collection of work that showcases his true self-expression in music. He explained that when he first started music he felt the pressure to release consistently to stay relevant. “Multi-drop songs spanning multiple genres, keys, and tempos, was certainty interesting and admirable, but in many ways, I failed to zero in on exactly what it was I was trying to say in dance music, the story I wanted to tell was fractured and lacking a cohesive narrative.”

In addition, he confessed his relationships during the first half of the year were “detrimental to [his] musical and spiritual development”. However, in April he began to take a step back and re-calibrate his focus on music.

“I began writing again in earnest, penning some 50 tracks over 4 months. Out of that slew of demos, I began to slowly narrow in on a sound and style that I think is beautifully encapsulated on this EP. There is a clarity of focus that I felt my early work sorely lacked, a boldness and confidence that I had only mimed before but now truly embody.”

This EP will combine electro, hyper-pop, hard techno, hip-hop, trance, and schranz that will represent the true essence of a Luca Lush record. This self-released body of work will come from a place of authenticity and will be previewed ahead of its official release on sound.xyz.
