Ghastly Announces First-Ever EP Under Ghengar Alias

Fans are hyped after Ghastly unveiled the release of his debut EP under his side project Ghengar this week. 

Ghastly took to social media this past week to bestow the inception of his alter ego Ghengar’s introductory EP. David Lee Crow, better known as Ghastly arrived on the EDM circuit in 2012 with his first single, “Funky Flex.” Since then he has established his musical abilities, collaborating with influential artists such as Mija, Skrillex, and Diplo. 

The Arizona native divulged the arrival of NECROMANCER, the first-ever EP under his pseudonym, Ghengar. He spread the word through multiple social media platforms, exciting fans across the board. “your GHENGAR show is still the most impressive dubstep project out there ?,” one person commented. 

Ghastly alluded to this alter ego via Twitter earlier this year in January, “I’m putting out 3 albums this year. Not all of them will be under the name Ghastly.” Then again the following month in February, “Many are asking about what my GHENGAR project is.. I’ll put it this way From now on: Ghastly = house music/melodic bass | GHENGAR = ? ? ? .” 

Moreover, his dark sense of humor can be felt within the tweet, yet Ghengar embraces all that obscurity. Previously to becoming a successful DJ, Ghastly partook in a metal band in high school. Subsequently, his “evil twin” Ghengar bares witness to the metal gloom and doom aesthetic. The presence is also evident in the font and typography affiliated with his side project. 

Ghastly has been openly tweeting about his transformative years 2021-2022. He touches base on therapy, giving up nicotine, the positive effects of working out, and even raising a puppy. Much like his Pokémon counterpart name, Gastly, through these acts of self-improvement, he has evolved to Gengar, or rather Ghengar. 

The Necromancer Tour kicked off this month in Chicago. His side project demonstrates the efforts taken to revolutionize dance music by changing gears and delving into his passion.
