Elsewhere Brooklyn Issues Apology After Incident Between Artist and Security

Citing a violence incident between artist and security, music venue Elsewhere expresses their apology to everyone involved.

This past week, popular Brooklyn music venue, Elsewhere, posted an apology note on social media for “an incident between an artist and a member of the security team”. While they did not explicitly outline the details of the incident, they assured the public that they are “thoroughly investigating the situation and reached out to the artists involved.

Acknowledging that they have “fell short on this night”, Elsewhere shed some light, albeit vaguely, on the situation. It seemed that the happenings on Tuesday night affected not only the safety of the public, but an oversight by their in-house security team, who mishandled the situation, caused things to get out of hand.

In addition, Elsewhere has also specifically extended their “deep and sincere apology” to artist Pink Siify, Eyedress, and all the Lex Records members. Further emphasizing their stance that “violence is never the answer”, Elsewhere concluded at the end of the post that they remain committed to “open the dialogue and encourage any feedback to continually improve”.

Comments on the Instagram post signaled confusion among many fans. Some expressed their appreciation to Elsewhere for being forthright and upfront about accountability. Others were curious and wanted more information on the incident.

On the whole, music venues should always be a safe space for the fans to enjoy their favourite music, artist and have a wonderful time. Creating a no tolerance policy is always crucial to ensure that people regardless of any status will be respected and accepted.

Goosebumps never lie! My name is Sheila and i'm lucky to have enjoyed a career in the music industry. As a dance music enthusiast, there is nothing more incredible than the euphoria on the dance floor. Whether it's dance pop, techno, house, trance, or any other sub-genre of dance music, I'm always up for a good time!
