Fred Again.. Drops Out of Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Festival

With only less than a month away, Fred Again.. drops out of Porter Robinson’s Second Sky festival. 

One of the biggest show announcements of the year was when Porter Robinson revealed Fred Again.. would be joining the Second Sky festival lineup for its third edition. However, tragedy has hit and Fred Again announced that he must cancel his appearance and will be replaced with another special guest.

Porter’s specially curated festival will take place from October 29-30th in Oakland, California. The lineup includes electronic staple RL Grime in addition to a special back-to-back set between Porter Robinson and G Jones. With all the hype surrounding Fred Again..‘s boiler room set this year, it was sure a selling point to ticketholders.

Fred Again.. took to Instagram to share a lengthy post and apologize to disappointed fans. He clarified that he agreed to play Second Sky before he knew the release date of his upcoming album Actual Life 3. He expressed his regrets and claimed it was the first time he has canceled a show ever.

Unable to make both obligations work, he explains, “I have to record and make some things in the UK to accompany AL3 which require crew and equipment needed for the show to work.”

Fred Again..’s new album Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022) is set to release on October 28 via Atlantic Records. It is his third studio album and the third installment of his Actual Life series. It is unclear who will take Fred Again..’s place but Porter Robinson has promised it will be just as worth it.
