Inside Disclosure Duo’s Relationship Following Howard’s Touring Hiatus

Disclosure releases a joint statement pertaining to Howard and his health.

The English DJ duo Disclosure, comprised of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence, disclosed a unique announcement regarding the status of their forthcoming Australian tour via both Instagram and Twitter. “Hi everyone, Howard here. A rather uncomfortable announcement!” began the thread. It continued with a disappointing, yet understandable expression of what it means to be human.

“I’m very sorry to say that I won’t be joining Guy on our Australian tour this year. As those of you who follow my personal account may already know, I’ve been really struggling with being back on the road touring again. Guy and I have been touring almost constantly for well over a decade now, and although I’ve had some of the best times of my life (for which I’ll be forever grateful), I’ve also always struggled with the intensity, jet lag, lack of routine and being away from my friends.”

Howard went on to elaborate upon his message. “This year I’ve done my absolute best to push through for you all, and have managed to play many, many shows, but sadly I’ve now hit a breaking point and really need to take some time to look after myself. Guy (absolute soldier) will still be coming with the rest of our amazing team to deliver bangers to all you lovely ravers down under. I’m sorry to let you all down and I hope you understand… I promise I’ll spend the time writing more songs for you all to make up for it.”

There was an overwhelming response of support from fans and industry moguls. Tiesto commented, “Great to see you’re taking care of yourself mate!! Sending lots of love!” Rufus Du Sol shared love with, “Take care mate,” and Zedd joined the bandwagon with, “Much love, my brothers.”

Both Howard and Guy have expressed acute exhaustion numerous times throughout their career. The duo took time off in 2017 shortly after the release of “Caracal,” which both of them openly professed was much needed. They have repeatedly spoken to the exhaustion and whirlwind craze of celebrity, fame, the prolific creation of music, and the DJ lifestyle.

Nothing is more important than bolstering one’s physical/mental health and overall well-being in a time of depletion. On behalf of all of Exron, we send love to Howard, who needs some well-deserved R&R.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
