Ghastly Reflects on “Life Changing Experience” at Burning Man
After a week-long venture at Burning Man, Ghastly contemplates the “Life Changing Experience” he had within the desert.
Ghastly returned to the Burning Man Project, unbeknownst to the “life-changing experience,” it would leave. After two consecutive years of cancellation due to the global pandemic, the iconic fest is back. This year the festival was in full swing with multiple art installations, fueled by numerous musical acts and the power of dreams.
The theme was “Waking Dream,” to honor the mystical power of dreamers, and the psycho-spiritual effects dreams have on one’s reality and state of mind. This energy has transformative properties, with life-altering shifts. Ghastly is no stranger to these profound moments, which he spoke out about via social media.
On September 9th, four days after the festival, Ghastly shared thoughts on his experience. He stated, “all jokes aside – the burn was a life-changing experience, I have never felt so in touch with who I am and what I want to accomplish as well as fully re-aligning my value structure.” Setting the tone for the impression the festival left on him.
Furthermore, “Being physically tested in treacherous heat and wilderness with no outside connection unveils who you are and what you are made of.” Living in a society reliant on our devices and social media, disconnecting is truly needed to recenter. He discussed his attendance in the years prior, on the Under the Influence Show earlier in July.
Ghastly spoke about being homeless, psychedelics, and most importantly Burning Man. Consequently, that year was wild, from how he arrived to how he departed and everything in between. He goes on to discuss the lessons he learned through that experience, igniting his music creativity.
This year’s experience is no different leaving positive effects. Despite the ups and downs of this excursion, Ghastly identified the silver lining of his 2022 experience. “I can honestly say that I have truly evolved and I am more eager to be alive than ever before.” He’s wasting no time, starting moshpits and living his best life.
