Space Jesus Announces He’s Ready to Return to Music Following Allegations

Producer and DJ Space Jesus recently shared his intent to play music again to his Facebook fan group.

After years of being under fire due to sexual assault allegations made against him, Space Jesus says that he’s ready to return to the dance music circuit. The DJ made the announcement to his Facebook group called SpaceFam last week, which currently has more than 15,000 members. Using his personal Facebook account, Jasha Tull to share, “ok, I’m ready to play some music.”

The post received upwards of 800 likes and dozens upon dozens of comments from fans thrilled for the artist’s return. Many fans have asked for him to play in their city, one comment reading, “COME TO DALLAS!!!!” and another, “ATL welcomes you.”

The last time Space Jesus posted to SpaceFam was on July 30th, 2022 with a post that read, “i been depressed lately.” It’s unclear what this post was in reference to, but one might have some hypotheses about an artist that was forced to put a halt on what appeared to be a budding music career.

The sexual assault allegations against Space Jesus were made during the pandemic in 2020 when DJs were already not playing shows and festivals. Although many producers tried to return to normalcy last year (2021), he was not one of them. His ongoing legal battle with Michaela Higgins (Caeli La) hindered him from playing events and releasing music.

In April 2022, Space Jesus revealed that he and Caeli La had resolved matters amongst themselves and would not be proceeding in the courtroom. According to Caeli La, the issue was resolved with an $80,000 settlement awarded to herself by Space Jesus and his family. Around this time, he dropped a 9-track EP titled ‘Book II’, which gained support from listeners

Although the legal matters seem to be behind him, Space Jesus’ reputation in the EDM scene took a major hit. It’s unclear what this return might look like, but it sounds like he will be playing music somewhere. Past efforts to throw events proved to be rocky, but his SpaceFam is continuing to support his efforts to make a comeback.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
