The Truth Behind the BUNDA Project Revealed

Who is BUNDA in the electronic music realm? The secret is finally out.

The mysterious DJ and producer BUNDA has been making some noise this year surprising dubstep fans by cranking out a massive amount of music. Back in July, he tweeted he has already released 119 downloads with 5583 accumulative downloads.

There is not too much to be known about BUNDA aside from his parody-like humor in his graphics and videos, but it got people wondering just who is this dude. His music ranges with varying IDs of dubstep, riddim, and tear out but people were blown away by the amount of volume of music coming from just one person.

This summer he released his first EP via Disciple Records titled BUNDA WORLDWIDE and alerted fans that there was a big announcement coming. Following a tweet that stated, “THE TRUTH WILL BE REVEALED TONIGHT,” a Youtube video was then uploaded showing a video meeting of multiple upcoming producers coming together to celebrate.

It turns out that the BUNDA project isn’t just one man, but several talented rising producers including Vanmmusic, DEXAMP, Nvctve, Voysol, Veer, Nrv, Halkyxn, JPEBRO, SEWS, Akeos, Maahir, and Jiiko. By essentially ghost-producing tracks under the BUNDA alias, it gave a chance for these smaller artists to reach more people and be appreciated on a larger platform.

You can now see on BUNDA’s Soundcloud exactly which producer made each song. This was a clever way to give more exposure to newer producers in the game without all the hoops and politics the industry comes with.

When the truth came out a fan (@OffMetaJM) commented, “I feel like even if it wasn’t 1 person, the Bunda project has brought my own Bunda within me. Before I took music so serious and kept trying to make non-funny songs, yet now I make music in a very goofy manner and make meme songs and it expresses myself much more than making serious music. Even if Bunda is done now it will still be with me during the future of my dubstep career and many others probably.”

Today the industry is tough to break into without the money or resources for people who are passionate about making music. The BUNDA project not only lifted up other artists, but encouraged people to make music that inspired them or was true to themselves instead of conforming to genre expectations.
