What Your Favorite DJs Are Saying About Burning Man 2022

Let’s escape to Nevada, ride our bikes into Burning Man, and see what our favorite DJs are saying about this iconic gathering.

It’s that time again for our favorite DJs to fill the desert air with their music magic at the legendary Burning Man Project. This is the 36th year anniversary of this self-expressive, community-based celebration. It began as a bonfire ritual, amongst a few friends, in commemoration of the summer solstice on June 22, 1986.

Since then the Burning Man Project has grown from 35 to nearly 80,000 attendees. Even though this isn’t a music festival per se, they still brought the ultimate electronic acts. Musical performances from Vintage Culture, Gordo, John Summit, Flume, Louis The Child, Diplo, Charlotte de Witte, Ghastly, and many more. One of our faves, John Summit, tweeted this about his experience.

From fields of bicycles to sunsets with large erected stages, grooving the morning away. The setting sun calls forth the techno nights of dancing, and pyrotechnics illuminate the dark sky, melting into lost bike voyages in the desert. “it really is a life-changing experience,” Summit confirmed

Illinois DJ, Louis The Child, caught Summit’s firey explosive set. He tweeted, “Burning Man gotta be the only place where I could have stumbled up into the booth and end up doing pyro for a whole @johnsummit set.” However, there is always another side to the coin, and these sentiments were not shared by all.

Moreover, Ghastly tweeted, “Don’t go to burning man” on September 6th, accompanied by a photo with a cryptic message. Despite his warning, he intertwines the benefits of the festival, “I was tortured with kind humans who love me and helped me become a better and stronger version of myself.” He also shared it was his worst week then leaves us on a positive note. “I’ll never go again unless they do it again next year.”

Granted the nine-day festival is an experience on its own, it cultivates anti-consumerism and self-expression. For instance, Guatemalan-American DJ/Producer Gordo was lost for two days at the festival. However, he tweeted a day after the festivities, “Burning man is one of the most amazing festivals I wish everyone can experience once in their lifetime.”
