Elements Music and Arts Festival Reignited The Fire For 2022 Edition
Elements Music and Arts Festival might be our new favorite summer music festival, and here’s why.
Elements Music and Arts Festival was nothing short of a summertime dream for its 2022 edition. Finding a beautiful new home in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, was perhaps the best move this young yet booming camping festival could’ve made. The grounds were easily accessible from major cities like New York and Philadelphia while still able to remain tucked away in the majestic Poconos.
Large-scale festivals are fun, but for many, they can become overwhelming and overlook the meaning of “community.” Elements revisited the idea of what it means to be a community, and some would even say a family at a music festival. The festival grounds were small enough to where it took minimal effort to graze various stages throughout the night. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who was able to pull off seeing both Troyboi and Dr. Fresch throw down, although their set times did overlap.
Being a smaller-scale festival, Elements made it easy to make friends in the crowd since you would likely see the same beautiful faces several times throughout the weekend. Even the “crowd” wasn’t so much a crowd and more so a group of friends dancing together and celebrating magical moments.
Small in size does not mean small in production, bookings, or activities. In fact, Elements went over the top to deliver state-of-the-art production and cutting-edge stage design. Four carefully constructed main stages, Earth, Fire, Water, and Air, hosted some of the most sought-after names in dance music across all genres, such as Kaskade, Sofi Tukker, Liquid Stranger, Claude Vonstroke, and Zeds Dead.
In order to foster a sacred community feel, Elements also focused on harm reduction as a central pillar this year. There were many dedicated safe spaces throughout the grounds, and festival staff took the time to patrol the site and look out for the well-being of all patrons. Plus, there was a team of individuals scouring the grounds for any trash to dispose of. Although, littering seemed to be kept to a minimum due to the effort of fans and staff alike.
Elements Festival has always prided itself on being an immersive, colorful, woodsy wonderland. This year was no different–glowing monuments, neon trees, and interactive artwork decorated the festival grounds. Hammocks were carefully placed throughout the wooded area, so patrons could rest their tired bodies and enjoy the delightful sounds from one of the nearby stages.
The festival enlisted several live painters to create amongst the crowds while the headliners took the stage. Not to mention the famous art cars that traveled across state lines to be there. Guests might have recognized the Scrubby Bubble and Badman cars from Burning Man that made the journey all the way to the Poconos.
One final note to touch on is the festival’s wellness workshops. Throughout the weekend, guests could participate in a number of interactive workshops such as yoga, ice baths, sound healing, meditations, and more. It was the perfect opportunity to find balance, re-center your heart, and connect with like-minded individuals.
Elements was pure magic, but don’t take our word for it. The artists thoroughly enjoyed their time at the festival as well, even if it was for just a few short hours. Nicole Moudaber said, “It is the closest experience to what it was like in Ibiza’s early days, even before Burning Man. This is what Burning Man was. I came all the way here from Ibiza via Germany to Texas and today I’m here just for my set at Elements and I’m flying back in a few hours. I have to say, I haven’t slept more than six hours in four days, but it was all worth it! Elements was worthy, It was magical!”
Elements Music and Arts Festival truly delivered an experience like no other for its fifth year. To our Elements family, we can’t wait to be back next year!
