After Chris Karns teased the possibility of Pretty Lights making a comeback with ill.Gates, he took to social media to clear the air.
It seems that there will finally be light at the end of the tunnel after Chris Karns teased that Pretty Lights will be making a comeback with ill.Gates. Fans have waited long enough for new music from American electronic producer, and the turntablist and member of the Pretty Lights Live Band shared that the band is returning during the Sound Haven Festival in Jamestown, Tennessee.
During Chris Karns’ live set in the festival, he told the crowd that Pretty Lights will be “coming back”, sparking optimism from the fans in hopes that the band will be gifting more incredible music to the world once again. In addition, veteran EDM producer ill.Gates also emphasized that “it is on”, although no further details were revealed on the exact details.
However, in what seemed like a twist of an event, Chris Karns took to Instagram after the festival to clarify that “in no way was I trying to announce any sort of Pretty Lights comeback”. He acknowledged the fans’ excitement and expressed his regret for “misleading anyone who was there”. In the self-filmed video, Chris shared his genuine hope that Pretty Lights will make a comeback but “if the day ever comes that Derek decides to return to the public eye, he will be the one to let you all know, not me.”
Following the heartfelt post, the fans flooded the comment section with their understanding and support. While some were disappointed and wished that the news was true, the general sentiment was positive as they express their continuous backing for the band and earnest hopes that Pretty Lights will be back soon enough.
While the light at the tunnel seems to be just another oncoming train, we are keeping our fingers crossed that Pretty Lights will make their return again. In the meantime, listen to their last single to reminiscence the good times of rainbows and waterfalls:
