Hex Cougar Predicts an Industry Return to Trap Music
American DJ and producer Hex Cougar predicts a change in electronic music trends and senses that popularity will soon make a return to trap music.
EDM trap music has recently dipped in the past few years and the industry has been leaning more towards bass music leaving listeners and producers wondering when it will return. Trap music is the only genre that blends hip-hop and EDM and has been very influential in the past before it faded away.
In a recent tweet, Hex Cougar said that “over the past couple years, I’ve seen an increasing move towards bass music and shift away from EDM trap music in the larger cultural context trap music was originally founded as a bridge between hip-hop and EDM, and I think we’ll see a shift back towards it in the years to come”.
Hex Cougar over the years has built a strong fanbase with his unique music and persona. He has gained over 70 million streams across all platforms and has been supported by the likes of Diplo, Skrillex, Porter Robinson, DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers, and Jauz, among others. His emotionally charged and genre-bending production has made him grow over the years and become the household name he is now.
Hex Cougar released his debut EP ‘Under The Light Of A Dying Moon’ in early 2020 and hasn’t stopped since. With his other 2 hit singles “Hourglass” and “Sacrifice” he has gained already 4 million streams.
Hex Cougar continues to grow and evolve through his label Alter/Ego which he launched in late 2020. His label’s goal is to bring underground music to light giving all types of artists a chance.
