ZHU Showcases Versatility in New Mixtape featuring Elderbrook, Mr. Carmack, and more
GRAMMY-nominated artist ZHU will soon release his star-studded Musical Chairs Mixtape.
DJ and producer ZHU will release his new mixtape via the renowned record label Astralwerks this Friday, July 30th. This mixtape will be a showcase of his versatility with features from artists like Elderbrook and Mr. Carmack.
ZHU played Lollapalooza this week where he teased his mixtape for the first time, and where all festivalgoers will get the chance to get a cassette version of the mixtape at ZHU’s merch pop-up on Friday at Congruent Spaces. He will also perform at two Lollapalooza after shows, a sought-after Blacklizt show on Friday and at Aragon Ballroom on Saturday (where he plans to perform live with his full band).
Steven Zhu, also known as ZHU is an American GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producer, who sometimes goes by his alias Blacklizt when he’s playing techno. Up until 2014 ZHU remained anonymous and wanted to be known and judged only for his music, he signed to Mind of a Genius Records in 2014 taking his career to the next level.
The San Francisco native released his first full-length album ‘Generationwhy’ in 2016 and premiered it at Coachella. ZHU has gone on to release multiple hits, another album titled, ‘Ringos Desert,’ and perform at some of the biggest festivals worldwide.
ZHU’s Musical Chairs Mixtape features seven of his brand new songs with a mix of artists, moods, and genres making this compilation extremely unique. Featuring artists like Elderbrook on the track “Unbothered,” along with other features like Mr. Carmack, Channel Tres, Kiko Franco, Boy Matthews, partywithray, Phil Scully, Bava, sillygirlcarmen, Rush Davis, JADED, Mitch Bell, and Aaron Leibowitz.
With plenty of different styles, tempos, and moods in this Mixtape it will be interesting for all types of audiences. Look out for the release on Friday, July 30th via Astralwerks.
