Bassnectar Fans Uncover Video They Believe Signals His Return to Music

Reddit explodes with reactions after video surfaces claiming to contain unreleased Bassnectar tracks.

Once a bass juggernaut of the electronic community, Bassnectar’s career took a plummet after two women came forward accusing Aston Lorin of sexual assault in April 2021. Later a third woman came forward with a similar testimony alleging Lorin of sexual misconduct and soliciting nude photographs from the victims when they were under 18.

This case is ongoing and if it makes it through the process will go to trial in the fall of 2023. Since then, Bassnectar has stayed relatively quiet, except for releasing a few tracks out on Soundcloud. Lorin was dropped from virtually every lineup his name was on and most people do not think he will ever make a comeback.

Ohh lawd, a new track!

However, there is a group of people that are still in support of Lorin and are awaiting his return. A few days ago, Reddit popped off when someone posted a video and claimed the songs in the background were unreleased tracks from Bassnectar.

The video and thread were posted by Redditor CotaNW360 who identified one unreleased track and alluded to the video being taken on Saturday of Electric Forest. He claims that due to illicit activities he isn’t able to share the video with anyone in it but swears that it is indeed Bassnectar’s music.

However, many were skeptical and confused about the legitimacy of the post. Other Redditors asked for clarification to which CotaNW360 responded that he recorded in secret under a pop shade tent. It does not seem surprising that Bassnectar is continuing to make music, but rather the amount of support he still has after harrowing accusations against him from multiple women.

Though Bassnectar continues to make music, it is unlikely we will ever see a performance from him on any lineups soon or ever again.
