The Chainsmokers Reveal Plan to Play DJ Set in Space

The Chainsmokers Are Gearing Up To Take On Their Biggest Stage Yet, Outer Space

In 2024, The Chainsmokers are going to be the first DJ group to perform a set in space. Yes, you heard that right, a DJ set in outer space. Alex Pall and Drew Taggart will perform inside a pressurized capsule that will be attached to a stratospheric balloon. They will perform roughly 20 miles above the Earth thanks to their partnership with space tourism company World View.

Ryan Hartman, CEO of World View hopes artists will be inspired and “do something different than they would have otherwise done…To be able to reach the audience of the Chainsmokers through Alex and Drew’s work contributes to our mission as well. It’s something that I’m personally inspired by and excited about.”

When the duo was asked about the project they said “We have always dreamed of going to space and are stoked to collaborate with World View to have this adventure and experience.” “We know the views of both Earth and space are going to be incredible and inspiring and we hope to leverage this flight for creativity on future projects.”

This performance will not just be monumental but historic since it’s the first of its kind. It’s one thing to be a professional DJ, but to push the boundaries after reaching that status is spectacular.

On May 13, The Chainsmokers released their fourth studio album ‘So Far So Good,’ earlier this May. The album includes music videos for tracks like “Riptide,” “iPad,” and “High”. In addition, on July 1 the deluxe version of ‘So Far So Good’ was released which included a bonus track featuring electronic duo Bob Moses called “Why Can’t You Wait.”

Finally, the So Far So Good Tour is still going on so make sure to catch a show near you. The tour also includes several festival stops at Veld, Breakaway, Blended, Badlands and many more. You can also catch their monthly residency shows at Encore Beach Club and XS at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
