Zeds Dead Reveals Debut Party for Sub Label Altered States in New York

Zeds Dead shares plans to showcase their coveted Altered States label at a sought-after Brooklyn venue this weekend.

In March 2021, iconic dubstep duo Zeds Dead revealed the launch of their new imprint, Altered States, an offshoot of their renowned Deadbeats label. According to the group, the label is “one where we explore sounds that take you into a different space, one of dreams and other @Altered_St8s of consciousness.”

Fans soon learned that this description didn’t do the incredible sounds of Altered States much justice. The duo dropped a ‘Catching Z’s’ mixtape that garnered the attention of a global fanbase and set the tone for the label. The label has also released tunes from various alternative electronic artists, making it one of the ideal places to seek out funky, weird, and downtempo beats.

Now, Altered States has shared plans for the very first Altered States Experience, a carefully curated event featuring some of the most celebrated up-and-coming names in dance music. Not to mention, a set from Zeds Dead themselves, which many hypothesize will mirror the duo’s popular “Catching Z’s” mixtape series.

The show will debut at Superior Ingredients in Brooklyn this Saturday, July 23rd. The boys will be in New York already as they’re currently gearing up for a sold-out Deadbeats show at the famous Brooklyn Mirage on July 22nd.

The Deadbeats show will feature acts like Boogie T, Deathpact, Sippy, and Superave. There will also be a drum and bass takeover inside King’s Hall, featuring sounds by Blanke and several others. On Saturday evening, Zeds Dead is having Mary Droppinz, Ayybo, and Noises out for the Altered States show.

Tickets for Zeds Dead’s Altered State’s label event are currently on sale here. Snags yours for the chance to witness what will be one of the most historic shows in Deadbeats history.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
