Ren Zukii Becomes First-Ever Artist Exclusively Signed to WAKAAN Alongside ‘Monarch’ EP

Solely signed to WAKAAN, Ren Zukii, becomes the first-ever artist exclusively on the label, accompanied by her ‘Monarch’ EP.

Ren Zukii’s ‘Monarch‘ EP is hitting fast and hard, out exclusively through WAKKAN on July 12th. Don’t sleep on this debut release, marking the first time Ren is sharing her work with the world. She had this to say about the album, “A lot of the inspiration for this EP came from listening to a lot of Metal and watching Quentin Tarantino movies.”

WAKAAN was initially founded by Martin Stääf, also known as Liquid Stranger, in 2015. The WAKAAN Music Festival will be held in Ozark, Arkansas from September 28th till October 1st. The perimeter of the festival is to highlight WAKAAN artists in addition to the artist on their affiliate label SSKWAN.

Starting this high-octane experience which is the ‘Monarch’ EP, “Deadman” sets the tone, for this atmospheric endeavor. The melodic beat kicks it off, ramping up to a pulsating bassline enthralling listeners with a series of mesmerizing sounds. Next up is “Monarch” the title track, delivering a droned-out repetitious ambiance, leading to an echoed wave pool of indulgent sounds.

Subsequently bringing us to “Reign” unearthing a soundscape of alluring hazy elements, curating a powerful explosion of bass beats. In addition building sonic momentum to glide into the final track, “Solomon.” The looming rhythmic vibration bleeds into a pulsating tone and metamorphosizes to glitchy electronic reverberation. This EP sets the stage for the underlying raw potential this artist cultivates.

Hailing from Western Australia, Zukii, showed interest in drum and bass at the young age of 12, from there she picked up DJing at 18. Rene Snow, Zukii’s given name, is fairly new to the scene but proves to be quite affluential. In fact this past New Year’s Eve she played at Australia’s Origin Field Festival at Langley Park in Perth Foreshore. Sharing the stage with Pendulum, Kanine, and Blanke, showing support as one of their opening acts.

Ren gained inspiration for ‘Monarch’ due to unusual life experiences which lead to in-depth soul searching. She had this to say “The ‘Monarch’ EP is a culmination of 6 years of my journey in music. It’s chaotic, emotional, and visceral and is the first of many to come.”  Her partnership with WAKAAN has unveiled her music to a new demographic of listeners with Ren Zukii on the rise, we can anticipate hearing a lot more from her.
