Exron Exclusive Interview: EVAN GIIA at Electric Forest 2022

Brooklyn-based pop electronic musician EVAN GIIA dives into the meaning behind her project and inspires fans everywhere to shoot for the stars.

EVAN GIIA is a trailblazer in the dance music space, particularly celebrated for championing mindfulness, empowering women, and promoting body positivity. Not to mention, her special attention to fusing music and fitness has garnered massive attention in recent months. Recently in the news for organizing an all-women crew to film her “Rabbit Hole” music video, EVAN GIIA has been on a girl boss hot streak.

With two Thursday Electric Forest performances, including an early “GIIA MOVE” yoga and meditation session, EVAN GIIA set high expectations for the remainder of the weekend. However, bringing fans together through music and fitness isn’t something she’s unfamiliar with.

Released in August 2021, her debut EP ‘ENDORPHINS’ focuses heavily on movement with the goal of uplifting and motivating listeners. Track titles like “SWEAT” and “IN MOTION” give fans an idea of what type of energy they might feel while jamming out (or working out!) to her EP.

EVAN GIIA has had several exciting career innovations over the past few months. One of them including a plan to integrate Soul Cycle into her performances. But of course, playing at Electric Forest’s historic return after a three-year hiatus was at the top of the list. We got the opportunity to connect with this inspiring musician to hear her thoughts on Electric Forest, her vision to ramp up her project, and her role in inspiring fans.

In addition to her success in the festival circuit, EVAN GIIA has been busy cranking out tunes in the studio. Check out EVAN GIIA’s brand new track with Dillon Francis and Illenium, “Don’t Let Me Let Go” below, and keep an eye out for more collaborative projects in the coming months.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
