Hooks of Zeds Dead Hosts Stunning Art Gallery in Downtown Denver

Back in Colorado for DeadRocks, their annual Deadbeats showcase at Red Rocks, Zeds Dead also hosted a beautiful art gallery at Mirus Denver featuring works by Hooks.

The boys had a pretty busy week in Colorado, hosting two nights of DeadRocks, a 4th of July Jamboree celebration, and a massive afterparty at Mission Ballroom. Not to mention, they kicked off the big weekend with an art gallery presented by one of the two members of Zeds Dead, Hooks.

Appropriately titled PAINTDEMIC, the showcase features dozens of paintings created by Hooks. The events description reads, “ARTWORKS CREATED DURING THE YEAR INSIDE (AND A COUPLE NEW ONES).”

Opening night for the gallery took place on the evening of July 1st. Zeds Dead made an appearance to enjoy artwork, music, and drinks with fans, as the gallery was hosted inside of a full bar. The gallery remained open the following day as well so fans in town for the events (and locals!) could stop by at their leisure.

Many of the paintings on display were for sale, with some going for up to $10,000. PAINTDEMIC also had a number of prints for sale, so even those who weren’t ready to dish out a paycheck were able to grab some beautiful pieces of Hooks artwork.

Zeds Dead was back in Colorado for their seventh annual DeadRocks show. Although Canadian, the boys were also eager to host their second annual Backyard Jamboree 4th of July celebration in downtown Denver, the state’s capital. Hooks has hosted art galleries in the past, however, this would’ve been the first time he brought it to Colorado in conjunction with DeadRocks.

Hooks and DC are both extremely talented artists who allow their creativity to shine in a multitude of facets. The duo is currently on a hot streak announcing a string of curated Deadbeats events across North America. Next up catch them at Heatwave Music Festival Chicago on July 17.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
