Tipper’s Team Confirms He Will Be Limiting Performances This Year Due to “Health Concerns”
Despite daunting health concerns, Tipper perseveres, confirming selective live performances this year in the US.
Tipper’s Team announced via email that his live sets would be sparse this year due to ongoing health issues. “2022 Update..we’ve been planning a Labor Day weekend event for some time, but recent developments have stalled our efforts.” Tipper fans received an email notification earlier this month revealing this sudden health concern.
Tipper has been a crowd favorite for decades, playing at festivals around the world. Touring can be grueling for anyone especially dealing with an unforeseen health issue. His team stated, “Sincere apologies to many of you waiting; this is a very unexpected happenstance, but completely necessary of us to push pause until Tipper is feeling back to his best.”
2022 started quite well for Tipper with performances at two major festivals. In April he played at the Tipper & Friends Festival at Spirit Suwannee Music Park in North Central Florida. A few weeks ago he took the stage at Sonic Bloom Festival at Hummingbird Ranch in scenic Spanish Peaks Country, CO. This unpredictable news came as a surprise to fans, with an expectation of plenty of tour dates this year.
In the email, Tipper’s Team clarified there will be at least two more shows this year. “Tipper is addressing health concerns serious enough that he will only perform twice more this year now.” Tipper will be live in August at Secret Dreams Music & Arts Festival in Thornville, Ohio with Tycho, STS9, and Jade Cicada. Then in September he will be playing at Same Same but Different Festival in California at Lake Perris State Park.

David Tipper, aka Tipper, began his career DJing as a teenager in a London nightclub where Richie Warren discovered him. Since then David has fine-tuned his sound ranging from sound design to trip-hop, and ambient. His recordings can also be heard in the background of a variety of commercials and television programs.
In 2013 after recovering from a mitral valve repair surgery, he released his full-length album ‘Forward Escape‘ that following year. With such a vast discography, performing at countless festivals, and a relentless work ethic, Tipper will be back on stage in no time. Our hearts go out to Tipper and his family during this strenuous time.
