Tiësto Shares Adorable Photo with 1-Year-Old Daughter Viola Ahead of Welcoming his Second Child

Tiësto celebrates being a dad of his 1-year-old daughter while anticipating the arrival of his second child.

Tiësto celebrated Father’s Day with his daughter, Viola, while enjoying a walk along the beach. The Instagram post commemorates their father-daughter bond and the daily occurrence of switching hats when being a dad. He captioned the post “Father during the day, DJ at night.”

The first Father’s Day, in the US, was celebrated in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910. Sonora Smart Dodd initially proposed the idea after hearing a sermon in church acknowledging the new holiday, Mother’s Day. President Lyndon B Johnson announced the holiday would be officially honored on the third Sunday of June. The holiday commemorates the parental bond, the impact fathers have on society, and of course fatherhood.

From DJ to father, Tiësto welcomed his first child Viola into the world in November of 2020 with his wife Annika Backes. He proposed to Annika in 2018 and married in 2019 in Amangiri, Utah. The couple attended the Grammy’s this past April, where Tiësto announced the expectance of their second child. He shared on social media some beautiful photos highlighting the evening’s red carpet event.

The couple met in 2015 at a restaurant in New York, Catch, establishing their interest and connection.
A few months later, they were an official couple which led to their engagement during the Thanksgiving holiday. Annika had this to say to Vogue, “We started hanging out for the next few months, and when Coachella came around, we decided the day before we go together.”

In 1994 he began producing gabber and hardcore material with sub-labels Chemo and Coolman on Noculan Records. The Magik and In Search of Sunrise CD series was released in 1997 on his label Black Hole Recordings, with Arny Bink. Subsequently, DJ Mag readers voted him as the “best DJ of the last 20 years.”

This month he announced his collaboration with Charli XCX, ‘Hot In It’ dropping on June 30th. Charli teased her TikTok followers with a sample of the song while getting ready to attend the amfAR Gala. Tiësto is on tour till the end of August in support of this release.
