Party Favor Effortlessly Fuses Genres in Stunning Sophomore Album ‘RESET’

The remarkable sophomore album, ‘Reset,’  by fan-favorite Party Favor synthesizes an eclectic mix of sound and style.

Party Favor’s, ‘Reset,’ is another testament to Dylan Ragland’s creative genius, merging a concoction of delectable sound bites. This 14-track album commences with the immersive energy of “With Regards To Your Speakers,” establishing the mood for what’s to come. “Hollow” produces a euphoric wave of blissful sorrow featuring DeathbyRomy

Track five, “Too Much,” incorporates the initial fundamental musical details Party Favor first heard on electro records. “Spirits Pt. 2” showcases elements of Party Favor‘s ghost of Christmas past braided with present-day inspirations. Closing out the album with “Anxious“, described by Ragland as “a song about saying ‘f*ck you’ to anxiety which myself and a lot of people suffer from.”

Lil Gnar featured in “Spirits Pt 2” can also be seen in the music video released in conjunction with the album. The video’s premise depicts Party Favor with Lil Gnar in a donut-spinning, car chasing, apocalyptic desert.  The track offers some hyped beats, then slows the tempo down to 60 quarter beats per minute, pouring out that metaphoric cough syrup cup to DJ Screw with that chopped and screwed action.

The global pandemic played a large factor in the creation of ‘RESET’ out now on Ultra Music. Party Favor found himself reflecting not only on himself but on his musical creativity during the global pandemic. During this time he honed in on joining his trademark sound mixed with his earliest influences of rave finesse. ‘RESET” discusses love, loss, and anxiety, which are Ragland’s most private and exposed themes.

Party Favor hit the ground running in 2016 with his debut EP “Party & Destroy,” alongside his chart-stomping track “Bap U” with over 40 million streams. He’s united forces with big-name artists such as Diplo, Rich the Kid, 2 Chainz, and Gucci Mane. His talents have bled into video games as well, scoring Madden 21.

In 2019 he launched a new side-project called SIDEPIECE focusing on house music with counterpart DJ Nitti Gritti. In addition, this year Party Favor is hitting the stage, starting in Las Vegas, NV at Tao Beach Club and rounding it out at Armor in Minneapolis, MN.
