Ghastly Writes Emotional Song for Ex-Girlfriend after “Difficult Breakup”
EDM’s Ghastly shares vulnerable piano solo with fanbase after breakup.
As an internationally renowned DJ, Ghastly is known by the EDM community as a prolific producer as well as an artist and visionary. He’s both talented and charming, dropping mad catchy tracks on the regular with industry heavy hitters, while also helming active social media platforms that woo fans and Tik Tokers globally.
And upon viewing Ghastly’s social media platforms – which often feature fun little musical blurbs, project sneak peaks, status updates, and multifarious artistic endeavors – it’s clearly been the best of times and it’s been the worst of times. It’s been the season of cuffing, it’s been sad girl summer. It’s been the spring of hope, it’s been the winter of despair – as always, in love and war.
To be more specific, Ghastly recently shared via Instagram that he went through some romantic inclemency, a difficult breakup, via a short musical clip. The video featured rolling text as well as a beautiful piano riff, certainly a breath of entropy for an EDM artist. And rather than deploying his usual jokes, quips, and/or guest appearances from his unusual pets, Ghastly came across as vulnerable and melancholy. He sat in stillness, quietly playing the piano while text flashed.
“I recently went through a really tough breakup,” Ghastly’s text narrated. The video continued with, “I wrote this song as a way of moving on. The hardest part of breaking up is deciding what hurts the most… holding on or letting go.”
Ghastly’s script vaguely touched upon his current state of reflection, expressing gratitude and humility. “I wish her nothing but joy and happiness in her life, and sometimes that means recognizing I am unable to provide it. Maybe in another life we will be right for one another, but regardless… I’m happy I met you in this one.”
Although no breakup is easy, being able to wish someone the best despite their exit is profound. It demonstrates strength of character and magnanimity.
