Deadmau5’s Most Iconic Track Achieves Double Platinum

Deadmau5’s Iconic“Ghosts N Stuff” Officially Goes Double Platinum 15 Years After Its Release

During his set at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas, Canadian producer deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman), stopped his performance for a very special announcement. The DJ announced that his hit record “Ghosts N Stuff” is officially double platinum as he received the award on stage. In celebration, he screamed “Double platinum! And it only took me 15 years!.”

The instrumental version of “Ghosts N Stuff” came out in October 2008 and was re-released with vocals in September 2009. Furthermore, the first time the record was performed live was at HARD’s Haunted Mansion back in 2008 in Los Angeles.

A music video came out on Ultra Records in August 2009 and has since grown to over 61 million views. The video begins with deadmau5 being rushed to a hospital and eventually dying, only to be restored as a ghost. As a ghost, he roams around the city, gets a tattoo on his neck, runs into a gang of ghosts, and attends a rave.

While at the rave, another ghost pulls back Zimmerman’s sheet and he instantly gets revived at the hospital. It didn’t take long after waking up that he notices he still has the tattoo on his neck from his “choma”.

Aside from reaching this amazing career milestone, deadmau5 has not slowed down with his tour schedule. This summer you can see performances at festivals like Higher Vision, Escapade, Dancefestopica, and Electric Zoo. You can also watch regular appearances during his residency season at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas.

Finally, Zimmerman has also announced his We Are Friends tour. NERO (DJ set) will support on all shows with Kasablanca, Lamorn and more friends Bensley, BlackGummy, EDDIE, HNTR, LUPA, Morgin Madison and No Mana on select dates.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
