4 Queer Artists You Must See at Beyond Wonderland This Year
Teleport down the rabbit hole and catch 4 queer artists performing at Insomniacs Beyond Wonderland during Pride Month this year.
Queer love and community are in the air and it is everywhere, this month at Beyond Wonderland is no exception. With the beautiful views, Alice in Wonderland-themed mushroom energy, and welcoming fans the time to be your most authentic self is here. Additionally, June is Pride Month and we want to share four queer DJs that you won’t want to miss at the Gorge next weekend.
1. CloZee
French producer CloZee’s music releases sweet colorful vibrations reverberating in your most inner being. One of her recent collaborations with fellow rainbow legend Griz in their song “Color of Your Soul” encompasses that very feeling.
She has recently been announced on many upcoming lineups and festivals including Suwannee Hulaween set to take place on Halloween weekend. CloZee was also recently featured on Apple Music’s mix series for Pride Month which she shared a post about on Instagram with her beautiful partner.
2. Wreckno
If you wanna feel like your most powerful queer self Wreckno’s set will be the place for you. Singer and producer Wreckno always brings high energy and spectacular outfits to the stage. Wreckno was most recently on Rezz’s spiral and shared their excitement to be performing in Detroit for Pride month.
If you scroll down their Instagram far enough you can catch the artist flowing at shows with their hula hoop. Respect for our young, rich, gay, and beautiful flow artist and musician.
3. Moore Kismet
Up and coming songwriter and producer Moore Kismet will once again be blessing our ears this year at Beyond. This past year has been a whirlwind for this young legend, who just graduated high school (congrats!). On top of their hard work in school, Kismet has been hard at work producing the most badass music.
That includes their latest release “Wasteland” which if you have not heard yet leave this page immediately and go check it out. Now that you are back, the cherry on top of all this fun was that Kismet got to close out Circuit Grounds at this year’s EDC. If you have yet to see this bass heaven-sent artist yet make sure to catch them before their album “UNIVERSE” comes out on June 24th.
4. J. Worra
The Chicago-born and raised producer J. Worra has taken house music to a new level. Her latest song “Burn This House” ft Little Boots has all of the elements one needs to get moving and grooving to the beat.
She recently wrapped up her first headline tour in North America and will be continuing to perform in cities all year round. You can catch her at Northern Lights Festival, Outside Lands in San Francisco, and most importantly Beyond. She will also be acting as support for some of Swedish House Mafia‘s shows and more intimate shows in a city near you.
Queer love is all-encompassing. Queer love is embodied in the relationships between our romantic partners and our friendships. It can be felt between strangers and soulmates. However you choose to identify the rave community and Beyond Wonderland is a safe space for all people.
Lastly, this festival and the rave community we all have come to love would not be possible today without those in the past. Electronic music owes a great deal of gratitude to the queer community, especially to the early Black and POC pioneers in the industry and genre, so thank you. If you have not already, make sure to purchase your last-minute tickets for the festival here, and Happy Pride! <3
