Lil Texas Drops New Techno Alias ‘Diamond Dallas Tex’ With Debut EP on mau5trap
Diamond Dallas Tex, better known as Lil Texas, switches styles with his intoxicating new EP.
Typically known for his dynamic hardcore tracks, Lil Texas shows another side with his debut techno EP under the alias Diamond Dallas Tex. The four-track EP titled ‘The Afters’ pays homage to the grimey, industrial style of techno that sparked his interest in the subgenre.
After releasing the lead single, “Elevate” in early May of 2022 and receiving critical acclaim, Lil Texas decided it was time to share three more tracks that he had been working on. The EP encompasses the dark, gritty techno that the underground scene is known for. The tracks feature acid-like synths, adjusted to fit the needs of contemporary techno and house.
“This record represents my journey into the world of techno over the past few years. The 4 tracks gradually increase in BPM to represent the feelings and stages of the underground atmosphere”

I played literally 5 min of hardcore at the end of my techno set last night and this woman got SO UPSET she kept yelling “IT’S TOO FAST!” pic.twitter.com/BqTJDx8ido

Lil Texas’ new alias was born in the depths of a kink-friendly after-hours party where he was asked to spin industrial and hard techno. This alias gained notoriety after playing some of his typical 160 BPM tracks at a space yacht event, where a fan climbed up to the stage and stuck her thumb down at D.D.T. himself to tell him “IT’S TOO FAST.”
Having just performed at EDC Las Vegas, Diamond Dallas Tex shared some of his newly released tracks at Mau5trap’s takeover of the Rynobus art car. For those who couldn’t be there, be sure to listen to the four-track EP, ‘The Afters’ out now everywhere via Mau5trap Records.
