The Martinez Brothers Enlist Gordo and Rema for Dance Floor Heater “Rizzla” Ahead of New EP

The Martinez Brothers have teamed up with dance music sensation Gordo and Nigerian talent Rema on new single “Rizzla.”

On May 13, the Martinez Brothers (Chris & Steve Martinez) released their first original single of 2022 “Rizzla” featuring Gordo & Rema. In true Martinez Brothers fashion, this song is the perfect jam for the upcoming summer season. The record debuted on the Martinez Brothers label, Cuttin Headz which they founded in 2014.

When asked about the inception of the record brothers said “During the Pandemic, us and Gordo made a bunch of music, one of them being Rizzla.” The brothers continued. “It’s a special one because it bridges so many different parts of the world while at the same time crossing genres. We have utmost respect for Rema as an artist and to have him on this straight up club jam is insane.”

Back in August 2020, the Martinez Brothers and Gordo put out a record “Together” featuring Elderbrook and Mike Dean. As a result of this, it’s no surprise these amazing artists have reconnected for yet another club banger.

Consequently, “Rizzla” isn’t complete without the amazing vocals from none other than Rema. The Nigerian singer is coming off of his 16-track album which he released in March. His album had several hit features including Chris Brown, 6lack, AJ Tracey and Yseult.

In terms of upcoming shows, the duo have signed a headlining residency deal at White Isle hotspot Hï ibiza. They are scheduled to hop on the decks every Tuesday from June 14 – September 27. Lastly, some other residents you could expect are Loco Dice, Marco Carola, Paco Osuna, Kerri Chandler and Honey Dijon.

On the topic about their residency, the duo said: “We love Ibiza so much. It’s where we’ve played some of our most unforgettable parties over the years and we’re looking forward to taking it to the next level in the Hï Ibiza Theatre. Stepping up for our own residency is a real dream so this is going to be a special kind of summer!” Lastly, be on the lookout for the Martinez Brothers forthcoming EP which will be released later this year.

My name is Sebastian Medina and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Ever since I could remember, I have always been in love with dance music. I appreciate all genres and sub-genres but I definitely gravitate towards house and techno. Being from LA I was blessed with an amazing nightlife full of different artists coming in and out of town throughout the years. Some of my favorite artists include Seth Troxler, Michael Bibi, Mr.Carmack, PAWSA, and Folamour.
