NGHTMRE Dips Into Emotional Side in “The One” with KLAXX Ahead of Debut Album

American DJs NGHTMRE and KLAXX team up for a highly anticipated collaboration.

LA-based DJ, producer, entrepreneur, and label owner NGHTMRE, also known as Tyler Marenyi, teamed up with Southern Californian electronic DJ KLAXX to release a new record titled “The One,” now streaming on every major digital platform. This release is the second single from NGHTMRE’s forthcoming album, set to debut later this year. His first single “Fall Into Me,” which featured the EDM artist SLANDER and vocalist Dylan Matthew, was met with uproarious hype and positive feedback.

According to NGHTMRE, collaboration and good artistic chemistry are the keys to creative success. “I collaborate a lot, but there’s not a lot of people I collaborate with twice!” He furthered the point with, “Klaxx is truly a special talent and genuinely nice dude. I couldn’t be happier with the way this song came together. Our last release was definitely more of a festival banger, so for this one we dipped a bit more into our creative ‘feels’ and kept it melodic, but impactful.”

From KLAXX’s perspective, the collaboration was all about evoking emotion within fans. “The idea for ‘The One’ was to write a song that made you feel hopeful, that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.” KLAXX continued with, “I brought the original chords with a rough drop idea to NGHTMRE, he added the classic guitar riff in the intro and a fresh top lead for the drop, mixed with the only vocals that could bring the original idea to life.”

NGHTMRE has been extremely busy, performing at venues and festivals such as Ultra Music Festival and the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. In terms of upcoming performances, he’s set to play at EDC Las Vegas later this month, where he will be spin B2B with Big Gigantic, as the coy duo Gigantic NGHTMRE.

KLAXX has also kept busy, releasing tracks on labels such as Heaven Sent, Gud Vibrations, Dim Mak, Deadbeats, Proximity, and Mad Decent. He has garnered support from artists such as Slander, Jauz, Zeds Dead, Alison Wonderland, and collaborated with NGHTMRE, ARMNHMR, yetep, Kompany, among many others. With a bright future ahead of him, the industry is excited to see how far his talents will take him.
