Skrillex Drops Out of Movement and Sunset Music Festivals

After Taking A Seven-Month Hiatus, Skrillex Announces On Instagram That His Fans Must Wait A Bit Longer, As He Decides To Pull Out Of Both The Movement And Sunset Music Festivals

The Movement Music Festival and Sunset Music Festival will have to continue on without Skrillex. The Los Angeles native DJ and producer announced on his Instagram that he was pulling out from the upcoming Detroit, MI and Tampa, FL festivals that are both expected to occur this Memorial Day weekend.

Fans were disappointed that they would not be able to see the headlining Skrillex; however, they will be in store for some new music from the producer. On his Instagram, Skrillex stated, “Over the past few months I’ve been working very hard on finishing my albums and haven’t had enough time to prepare for the upcoming shows. I’m truly sorry but I had to pull out of the Detroit Movement and Tampa Sunset Music Festivals. I hope you can all understand that this was a very difficult decision for me to make but I’ll be back soon with the show you all deserve.”

The Movement Music Festival is set to take place May 28th through May 30th at the Hart Plaza in Detroit, MI. Currently, the lineup consists of 2 Chains, Adam Beyer, Gorgon City, Justin Martin, and many more. The Sunset Music Festival, also set to take place over Memorial Day weekend, is on May 27th through May 29th at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. This year’s lineup includes Illenium, Zeds Dead, Alesso, Dom Dolla, Dillon Francis, and more. No update has been given as of yet to determine who will replace Skrillex.
