Duke Dumont Sets the Mood for a Night at the Warehouse in Portland
Duke Dumont and local support performed an intoxicating show at PLUR central; North Warehouse in Portland, OR.
This past weekend Duke Dumont played at one of the most enjoyable and PLUR-filled venues in Portland, OR at The North Warehouse. The North Warehouse has one of the best sound systems in the city and you can feel the bass vibrating on your chest all night long. The Warehouse is all about providing a fun experience for ravers to enjoy their time and allows all types of flow goodies including light whips, finger gloves, and light-up hula hoops. Even one magical human came from the deepwater ocean to the dancefloor in a fabulous angler fish hat.
The North Warehouse had a collection of seven amazing openers as they have a big main stage inside and a smaller more intimate stage outside with heating lamps to protect from the Oregon cold. Inside for one of the openers Luxo, there were some Tron Legacy-like visuals alongside some sexy house music. Outside for one of the sets was Everettz who played some upbeat house that featured a cute raver girl light whipping to the beat.
After the openers, the people were ready for the king of warehouse rave music Duke Dumont. Dumont opened with one of his classic For Club Play Only songs “Red Light Green Light” featuring Shaun Ross. Behind the DJ was a massive screen for visuals and Dumont took full advantage of this cool feature. During the song, Shaun Ross made his debut on-screen singing and giving us directions to “GO GO GO” at the green light.
This fun visual happened again during “Alter Ego” with Channel Tres in which there was a montage of him dancing and grooving to the beat. At one point the montage included six floating heads of Channel Tres humming along to the song. The lifelike visuals of the artists helped attendees engage with the music and put smiles on their faces.
Throughout the night Dumont played many of his songs including “Runway”, “Therapy”, “Obey” and proceeded to finish off the night with “Ocean Drive”. With men in a mosh pit visual side by side with crazy ocean waves during “The Power” to molten lava inferno visuals complemented with lasers bouncing off the warehouse walls, this night was an absolutely maniacal good time.
Duke Dumont and Portland hand in hand make for an unforgettable rave experience. Duke Dumont IS warehouse music and there are not many who can do it like him and keep show attendees lively till 2 am. Make sure to listen to his amazing discography to keep the memories from the show alive!
