Funtcase Shares Sweet Birthday Tribute to Cookie Monsta Nearly Two Years After Tragic Passing
The dubstep legend reflects on the passing of his friend and collaborator, Cookie Monsta.
In a recent Instagram post, British Dubstep Producer/DJ, Funtcase shared a photo from EZoo of him and Cookie Monsta. As a tribute to his dear friend and collaborator who unfortunately passed away two years ago, Funtcase wished Cookie Monsta, real name Tony Cook, a happy birthday.
Having broken the news of Cookie Monsta’s passing, everyone at Exron Music is deeply tied to the tragic loss of such an amazing artist, and foremost, an amazing person. Cook’s impact on the industry is immeasurable. Having passed away at the age of 31, he managed to do so much in his time here.
Known for his “infectious, minimal, woofer-pumping brand of dubstep” Cookie Monsta always brought a certain type of grit and energy that is difficult to imitate. His most popular song, “Ginger Pubes” was a breakout track that was released with Circus Records, a powerhouse label founded by Flux Pavillion and Doctor P.
Within the comments of the post, other members of the dubstep community showed their love for Cookie Monsta. Getter replied “happy bday the legend for real ❤️love y’all both,” Eptic said “Happy Birthday Cookie ♥️,” and Barely Alive threw some hearts in the chat.
