Porter Robinson Enlists RL Grime for Inaugural Performance at Second Sky 2022

Electro-house artist Porter Robinson calls on RL Grime for the Oakland-based music festival.

Electronic and house music star, Porter Robinson, has enlisted RL Grime to perform at Second Sky music festival 2022. RL Grime was the first artist announced for the festival which takes place on October 29th and 30th.

This year the two-day festival will be held in Oakland, California at the Oakland Arena Grounds. This is a different venue than the inaugural Second Sky, which was held in Oakland’s Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in 2019.

Although this is the fourth Second Sky festival put together by Robinson, it is only the third to be held in person. Since the 2020 event was held virtually due to COVID-19.

RL Grime, the first artist announced, is sure to bring his signature trap and bassline music to the festival. The American artist is most known for his Halloween mixes which first began being released in 2012 and now continue annually.

The first of the mixes was released with the music collective WeDidIt, a music collective he continues to release music with.

With the festival happening during Halloween time the Halloween mixes are sure to be a feature in his set. Fitting both the artist’s brand and the holiday season in general.

Other than RL Grime, artists so far announced have been experimental artist Bladee, Japanese singer and artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, producer salute, and electro-pop artists Magdalena Bay

There are some important things to consider if you plan on attending the festival in Oakland this October: you must be 18 or older to attend, the gates open at 12 pm each day, the show will take place rain or shine, and outside food or beverages are not to be taken inside.

The festival will continue announcing artists on their Instagram over the coming days. Be sure to grab your tickets in advance as the festival is highly anticipated by electronic music fans across the states.
